Ive been thinking about trying to get a pair of pigmy chams and breeding them. Anyone have advise? At what age do they start breeding? Type of cage? Ect? Dont worry im gonna do much reasearch! But I thought id ask for help on here too as some of you have experience. How much different are they from vields? Because I have two vields. Thanks!!!

As others have said, there is good husbandry info here. But, first off, they are really different than veileds! Their habitat needs especially. Temperment, behaviors, breeding, lighting, types of food, everything. Doesn't mean you can't do it, you just have to learn a new set of ideas and be very observant. Their temp and humidity needs are fairly specific so make sure you can provide that in your house.

Maybe someone already asked this somewhere along the line but.........Is it possible to raise pygmy chams in the same enclosure with a "regular" cham. I'm thinking one kind living on the floor and the other one uptopside? I thought it would be a cool "total" environment. Whaddaya think?:D

The quick and dirty answer is NOPE. Cool perhaps, but it won't work. The little guys would make a tasty treat for the bigger ones, and their temperature and humidity needs are different.

They have different temp requirement. Also, pygs enclosure should have substrate to ensure high humidity. On op of that, like others have said, your 'regular' cham will probably chomp the pygmies if he spot them.

Ohhh......Thanks....I didn't know they could be cannibals. Definitely a no-no. Makes sense.

I have a 1.2 trio and I love them, they are quite different from your "true" chameleons, but in my opinion are very rewarding, they are neat to watch and part of the fun is building their vivarium!
