thermal burns or fungal infection?

About 2 days ago I noticed a little black spot on my veiled chameleon, and over the next 2 days it appears to have gotten bigger. I’m not sure what it could possibly be.
He’s kept in a reptibreeze and the temperature in there is about 75 degrees and his basking spot is about 83-89 degrees so I don’t think he’s getting burned by the bulb or anything.

Where is the black spot exactly? Is it that little thing on this back? If so, could you post another picture of it?
honestly it’s kind of weird, like it grows and shrinks could it be that he’s somehow too cold? (I was covering his eye with my thumb in the pic to prevent him from being blinded by the flash :ROFLMAO:)

Is it right next to that ridge on his back? It may just be part of his coloring, because when I look at it, the spot doesn't seem to be too evident. Most thermal burns will start to wither and turn grey because the skin is dead. I don't know how long thermal burned skin takes to do this, so you may just want to keep a close eye on it.

Not looking like fungus...could be a thermal burn...it's quite a large area.
Hold your hand under the basking light inside the cage at the closest point the chameleon can get to it and if you have to take your hand away it's too hot.
