There are weird bumps on her left side, is it MBD?

My chameleon was a rescue from a random pet store. The day i bought she has these weird bumps on her left side. i have posted photos, is it a sign of MBD and i have a hunch of broken bones(if so what do i need to do)?

to me they almost look like broken ribs. I would take a trip to the vet.

I doubt they are broken.

When younger, the rib points can stick out, and make it appear as if the ribs are broken.

If you take a better photo from the side I can see it better, but I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I took her to the vet they said its useless for her to take any XRays because of her hair like bone.

This is a better view, I can post more if needed.

I had one more question regarding her eggs, when is she gonna go through her egg laying cycle? Should I be worried? What kind of setup or environment am I supposed to keep her in?

I don't think theres anything wrong with the ribs.

Even as adults we can see the ribs.

Females can lay eggs as early as 6 months old, but through diet and heat control we can control how many they lay, and even prevent them from laying.


Dez has a great vid on egg bins, which you can find at the top of the cham breeding section.

Egg laying is nerve racking, but as long as you provide the right environment for her, she'll do all the work.

I see the bumps and that very well could be broken ribs. It can happen due to a fall or trying to squeeze through a small opening.....that's what happen with one of my females. It is not a sign of MBD. I would try to keep her from falling
or hurting herself until those have a chance to heal.

They can start laying eggs as early as 5 months so I recommend a laying bun in her enclosure at all times after five months old. I highly recommend a good chameleon vet fir her mouth. I gave you some links in your other thread about egg laying and the laying bin.
