For five days now I've placed the identical plant he has in his cage right at the front door in hope that he might venture out into the "unknown'' and every day he gets a little bit closer to the stick, but never dares to cross. I tried luring him out with tasty treats, but nothing. I'm itching to clean his cage and handle him! Patience... I thought he would be dying to get out of his lair and do a little free range..looks like I have a stubborn cham!

lol way to go snips i like your posts on here what you could try and do is stick a stick by him in hiscage and see if he wil hang on hen move the stick to the appropriate area

I agree with Peri, it is likely because that lone stick is exposed and he doesn't want to cross an exposed area when he feels pretty safe in his enclosure.

try turning the plant around so the leaves come right up against his enclosure, it should make him more comfortable to come out

Usually it is leaf to leaf, but I sorta threw it together today. There are actually 2 exposed sticks...one leads to his sleeping quarters and right above that one is the 'exit' stick. I tried to offer him a branch one day when he was climbing the top of the screen like going around in circles, but he hissed and bit it lol.

LOL like4 i said just try laying a stick in front of him see if he will grab at it

Man if I had my door open like that mine would be @ the neighbors before I bat an eyelash:p

I tried this with Stan for like 7 days and got no results... But what I did was take him out and place him on the umbrella plant and let him lay claim to it for about 2 hours a day... He now loves that plant and when I put in front of his cage after that it took about 15 minutes but he would climb down onto it and outside of the cage.... Now that I replaced the plants that were inside the cage and put the umbrella at the bottom he sleeps in it lol.. Its his hide away
