The tail has a mind of its own...

Last night at bedtime, certain portions of Thaxter's tail decided to put on their yellow PJs and go to bed before the rest did.

The photo doesn't really do it justice; it was quite peculiar looking. I've noticed before that his tail seems to have some autonomous regions that march to their own drummer, color-wise.

i would suspect some possible case of burn. but, i could b wrong.

Maybe his tail was tired before the rest of him I mean it has a lot of work to do during the day supporting him, keeping him balanced and all that

I looked at it closely this morning, and all seemed In Order. (i.e. the whole tail had agreed on the day's color scheme, and there was nothing to distinguish yesterday's two yellow spots.) The rest of the tail looks pretty dark and dingy in my photo, but that's just the lighting - didn't want to wake him.
