The "Princess and the Dinosaur"

Our Grandaughter (Aaralyn) is constantly wanting to hold what she calls our "baby dinosaur". He doesn't mind and she is very careful with him when I get him out for a "handling session"...........I couldn't help myself today when her and her older brother got in from school.

I tease her about him being a "dinosaur".......and I asked her today, "How she was gonna hold him WHEN he grew up to be an "adult dinosaur". She said, "Papaw........I will teach him to walk on me without putting ALL his weight down". I about lost it...........and didn't have any kind of "come back" for that answer.

Oh, to be 5 years old again.........and be as sharp as she is. She is our only Grandaughter, her older brother is our oldest grandchild (6), from our youngest daughter. They have two cousins that are both boys. When they come up next week, I'm gonna do my best to get a few pics of the oldest one (Griffin) holding our "baby dinosaur".

Anyways...........here are a couple pics. I think the smile says......it ALL. :D

Lol, trying to think up comebacks to use on 5 year olds is a lost cause :D. Looks like a good time was had by all, nice work :)

so cute my niece always wants to hold my " meleons " she is learning propore handling techniques as ive seen her tote around frogs with the typical death hold LoL, and we cant have that...

I'm surprised she wanted to handle it. Most girls her age scared/freakedout by lizards of any kind. Nice pics though.

Your grandaughter is wonderful. You are so lucky yo have your grandkids close. Both my grandsons live in Atlanta, GA. I hope you get pictures as your princess is super cute with your dinosaur.:)

Thanks for the compliments.......everyone. :) We have truly been blessed to have such wonderful grandchildren, and doubly blessed to have them so close to us. I guess, being a part of the "Appalachian" culture has its good points and one of them is that typically..........we all live fairly close together as a family.

I can't imagine not having them close enough to see on a regular basis. Especially with Aaralyn and her brother, we have been a regular part of their lives every since they came into this world. Few and far between are the times when they don't spend at least two or three nights with their Grandma and Papaw. She has been after me to take some pictures of her with Flash and today was the day.

This kid isn't afraid of anything, and climbs like a.........well, like a chameleon. Her older brother is the video game "junkie"........and would live in front of the TV............IF..........we would allow it. They are good kids, as are all of our Grandchildren and we truly enjoy all the time that we get to spend with them. My Mom's mother (my Grandmother) played a very important role in my up-bringing and I feel very fortunate to be able to be a part of theirs. There just isn't anything like a Grand-Parent.................to a kid.

Once again............THANKS for the compliments...........and she truly is our little "Princess". :D
