The new cage project

This has been my project over the last 3 weekends. The new cage. Internal dimensions are 19"D x 54"W x 48"H. A divider can be slipped in from the front and create 2 seperate enclosures, making 2 19"D x 27"W x 48"H cages.

I had posted "pick a project" thread with minimal results, so I just picked the project myself. Here is the end result. Sorry there are no build pics, maybe next time, if there would be enough interest in it.
Any thought or comments?

coolbeans!! can you see in better in person?? I know the flash on cameras makes the screen look like you can not see through it

How do you plan to setup the drainage for the cage? Maybe you have set it up already and it is just not visible from the picture. I like the design that is a great use for an old armoire or an entertainment system.

Nice!
Is half of that a future home for the little guy I am shipping out tomorrow?
He'll love it in 4 - 6 months!

You can see through the cage, the back, and bottom is a material called FRP. It's a reinforced plastic, it's white. I can have the mist directed at it without worries of mist water spraying outside the cage. The cage material is 1/2" vinyl coated hardware wire.

Drainage is via a standard 4" sink drain with a strainer on it, it's on the left side of the cage. I have the right side shimmed slightly so any water will run to it. It empties into a container behind the door on the left side. I guess I could have taken a picture of that too. It was a friend of mine's old T.V. stand, he was just gonna burn it. Just cut the upper part off, and built the cage, then set it on top. Take out a couple stainless stell screws and it comes apart. It's a heck of a lot easier than making it one solid unit if I have to move it.

Yes it is:D, glad you approve! I need to send you a p.m. about that.

Thanks. Dont mean to put a spanner in the works but im thinking water would pool up a bit, despite the tilt toward the drain, before it ran over the slight lip and into the drain, since its not quite flush with the floor. did you seal the joins?

Intresting use of old furniture. :)

There might be a slight pooling, I flushed the lip with the bottom as well as I could. I may have to buy another router bit and sink it further if I end up needing to do that. I can just soak up any pooling with paper towels daily if I have to. Yes the whole bottom pan and any joints around the bottom up to about 1 1/2" high is sealed.
