I looked in my incubator this morning to find 2 baby veileds hatching

dont worry there will be some on here soon. I have one fullt out but waiting for him to absorb the yolk sac before putting him in his cae. i also have 4 eggs looking really green with pips. The little one that is already out is hissing and gappingg at me. i hope this dont mean hes gonna be like this when older lol. Few questions.
1. how long does it take for the yolk sac to be absorbed
2. he/she has a piece of vermiculite stuck in her miuth will this be ok

thanks for everyones congrats. they took a total of 5 months and 17 days at around 82 farenheight and all look healthy. piccs will be on soon when more come out the eggs and they are tranferred to ther cages

It depends. Some of my babies have been ready to eat within hours, others waited for a couple days (living off the remains of their yolk).

If you have good delicate dexterity, you could gently wipe the vermiculite away. But chances are it will do so itself.
