So I just jumped and got my first batch of silkworm egs....1000.

They came mounted in a petri dish. I was wondering what is the best way to detach or take some out of the dish without damaging the eggs?

About how long will it take before they will be ready to for feeding?

if they are glued to the dish do not take them off they will pop=die

Actually Yes I have read a whole bunch...I have even researched the forum a whole bunch...I was just was looking for more information...nothing like the real deal when it comes to doing it yourself...

I figured that might happen if I tried to remove them....so the next question would be, About how long before they are ready to feed to chams.....?

depends how big and old your chameleons are you will for shure have to wait a couple weeks before they are big enough to feed

crickets have been the staple, along with the occassional meal worm, house fly, or roach that I catch arround the house.

They just started to pop out this morning and I have ground some of the mulberry food from COASTAL SILKWORMS into the dish for their first feeding...I hope to get them to soem regular leaves too but I read that once they eat the store food they will not eat anything else.

i may be wrong but i think it's the other way around, in that it's harder to get them to eat premade chow once they've eaten mulberry leaves. I've also read where some have had no trouble going between the two. Quick question, if you have them eating chow already, why are you switching to the leaves? it looks like that would be harder and more expensive to keep up than feeding them chow.

If there's a nutritional difference, i'd appreciate some input from some of you silky veterans as i too, am starting to get into silkworms.
