The Big Question…

Hey everyone!

I’ve been wondering about my juvenile Veiled’s age since the day I got him. Since he’s a male, I recognized that he would naturally mature larger than a female… but I’m not good at guessing. 😅

My unprofessional estimation is 3-4 months. I’ve had him for maybe 1.5 months, if it helps. Please help me estimate if you can! 💚

Please keep in mind that my poor baby has MBD. Though he hasn’t worsened, his casque may be sunken a bit because of it. :(

To me, he looks maybe 5-6 months old or so.
There was this really neat blog post I saw some months ago that had a photo of each month of a male veiled's development, and I so wish I could find it again. From what I recall, the patterns seemed to get more complex with age, and Rango's patterns stand out a fair amount, so I think it's possible he's a bit older than you're thinking.

I usually go by casque size and pattern developement with male veileds. Your sweetie has a shorter casque from his mbd and already has his beautiful patterns well in place, so he is at least 5-6 months old, if not older.
I’m really looking forward to his full recovery and how his gorgeous oranges develop. 🥰
