Chameleon Info:
  • Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
  • Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
  • Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
  • Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
  • Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
  • Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
  • History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:
  • Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
  • Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
  • Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
  • Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
  • Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
  • Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
  • Location - Where are you geographically located?

Ok i havent actually got the cgameleon yet but will be a panther.

Im thinking the enclosurewill be glass with a mesh top.

I live in the uk so hoping the glass wont be too hot. X

Many keepers in the UK use glass. That's not a bad choice. I would recommend getting the largest viv possible, and raise it up in it. So you won't have to buy a larger one down the road. Do you know what locale you'll be getting and how old it will be?
 
Ive seen 1 i want hes rougly 10 months. Hes all blue at the mo going to visit now so may take a pic.x

I really want to do this but am so nervous bout getting it wrong an then the little 1 suffers because of my lack of knowledge

Panther Chameleons - General Care


Temperature:
Baby/juvenile (<9 months): ambient 72-80F (22-26C), basking 82F (28C)
Adult males: ambient 75-80F (23-26C), basking 85-90F (29-32C)
Adult females: ambient 75-80F (23-26C), basking 80-85F (26-29C)

Also I have found that the best way to get the temperatures is a simple infrared thermometer. You can get them on amazon or ebay for less than $15(USD) and it way faster and way more accurate than those analog thermometers.

I'm sure you already know this as well but making sure that there are multiple levels and available branches to thermoregulate themselves.
