temp to low?

hi all iv got a exo terra cage it has a 60watt heat lamp and a 5.0 rio tube light it also has a real plant and some plastic ones at the moment the temp is at 67c this reading is from around the centre of the cage should i make it warmer or not?if so how can i do this? thanks john

What is the temperature in the basking spot - meaning where the 60watt light shines, the hottest place in the cage? How old is the chameleon?
Ways to increase temperature, if you need to, include raising the ambient temperature in the room a few degrees, using a higher watt lamp (greater heat output), locating the heat lamp a little closer (not so close that contact burns might occur)

my chameleon is a year and a half old its 70c under the basking area anymore advice would be ace thanks

Do you mean 67F or 67C? Im going to hope and assume you mean 67F since 67C would probably mean a cooked dead chameleon.

I would increase the temperature in the basking spot to at least 80F and up to as hot as 95F. That's like 32C.

According to the Raising Kitty website:
"...a basking temp of 95 degrees f. is plenty hot for an adult... " "The basking light will provide the hottest spot in a corner at the top of the enclosure. At the bottom of the enclosure should be the coolest temp (perhaps 68 or 70 degrees) [and] in the middle will be an ambient temp of anywhere from 72 to 80 degrees."

At night the temperature should go down.
"Veiled Chameleons can withstand night time temps into the 40's. A good night time temp is between 60 and 65 degrees f."

Or just increase the wattage of the heat bulb. So if you're using a 60Watt, up it to 100Watt and see what that does for the temp. Play with the position of the bulb / distance from top of cage and higher branches, until you find a nice zone.

We have a dimmer attached to our basking light. The temps tend to vary due to the weather here (or probably my heating) but this way we get to keep it stable.
