Temp range for keeping panthers outdoors

Hello everyone! With spring right around the corner, I am starting the new outdoor cages. My problem is, I live in the Midwest and have big temperature swings. It can easily get up to 100 in the summer and drop to 50 two nights later. My question is, what is the max temp range they can handle and when do I need to bring them inside??

Thanks in advance

Jeffrey

Well, they can stand nights down to 50*F as long as they can warm up some in the morning, and I guess they can stand any sort of heat as long as the mister is on occassionally to cool them off. I live in Florida and my panthers stayed outside from about February to August, standing night in the 50's and days in the 90-somethings. But I had their misting system going off a lot during the hot days so they could cool off, with a lot of shade.

Similar situation with me-
Temps here the past couple of summers have been in the mid-upper 90s lots (unusual in our area, but past couple summers very hot with many many days this hot). I run misters in part of the cages (patio cooling misters) during the heat of the day, making sure they have dry and wet shade and dry sun available during the day to use as and when they wish. Nights I bring in only if temps drop below 50 (only happens fall through spring).

in my experiences 100 degrees is to hot unless you can have misters on the entire time its that hot, as for 50 degrees I keep chams outside at night unless it drops below 50 as long as it heats up in the morning and throughout the afternoon

I believe that 100F is too hot....

if you provide shade and extensive misting, you can probably lower this somewhat though. I'd test your cages on hot days to see what they are at, but if its 90F+ in the coolest parts of the cage with misting on, I'd start worrying....

I live in OH and we have super crazy weather. In the summer, I will only put my chams out if it is between 80 and 85. I don't leave them outside at all at night. I have a few cages that are set up with plants that are for outside days. I rotate my chams, a few every day, bring them in at night, and a few more the next day. Just my system though. I think I'm a spaz!LOL:D
