I know tap water can be harmful to chameleons and u should buy that safe water stuff to mix with it first. But can I just use bottled or maybe distilled water instead?

Not all bottled water is necessarily filtered water. Some is "Spring" water. I would go distilled before bottled, just my opinion. I was using distilled for my mister and humidifiers before I bought an RO system.

Not all tap water is bad for a cham. If it is treated with fluoride, or chloramines you will want to use reptisafe. If it is treated with chlorine you can leave the water out overnight in an open bucket and the chlorine will dissipate on its own. Check with your water utility to see what's in your water. You may not need to add anything.

Bottled water isn't necessarily better. Some is simply municipal tap water! It may have chlorine in it.
