Hey all.id like opinions from anyone that has tamed veiled chams.my lad was 5 months when I got him I've had him a month and so far have introduced him to cup feeding and I give him an odd waxworm with a feeding tongs.most evenings I sit beside his cage for an hour or so to get him used to me now he's at the stage where hell hide if anyone comes into view but will do anything in front of me eat drink even crap :D tonight when I opened the door he came down from the basking spot and stopped on the closest vine to me.I put out my hand for him to climb on but he just spent ages lookin from my hand up to my face and down again.so I took my hand away and ill try again later.it seems to me like I'm making progress.I'm just itching to handle him though.

Can anyone tell me roughly how long it might take from this stage,if I'm doing anything wrong or anything else I could try thanks also I'm guessing because he was 5 months when I got him it might take some time to tame him as he might be set in his ways

Some veileds are friendly some are not. It sounds as if you might be winning him over. I would try hand feeding instead of tongues. I wouldn't use too many waxworms though as they are our equivalent of a mars bar.LOL If he likes worms you could try calci worms butterworms or silk worms. They are all avalable in uk.

Thanks for the help again Kate.its like route turning into.my personal advisor now :p I'm trying to locate an Irish supplier before ordering from the UK. And I've been using the wax worms sparingly - 1 every 3rd feed or so.I've seen plenty of threads on not feeding them too much and I don't want a,roundy chameleon :D

And dom thanks for the vote of confidence.its true when they say patience is a virtue I know its only been 4 weeks but it seems like forever when I'm dying to handle him.I'm hoping I might have some luck over the Christmas holidays when I'm off work
