for those of u with a tame chameleon ( especially interested in panthers) how did u do it?
did u treat them in any special way

Youve got to smack them up a little and let them know who is boss!!!:p

Really though I have one male who is pissy as hell. Ive had him for almost 2 years now. He has always been pissy. He will hand feed most of the time but as soon as he sees me he will blow up. If I show him a feeder he will calm down long enough to snag it then blow back up with it in his mouth hahahaha. He is so fun. You dont need another cham to make him fire up. I also have one that has been calm as can be since I got him at 3 months. Never has tried anything or hinted to be aggressive toward me. Its funny because the pissy one wont fire up if he sees him he only fires up at humans and the calm one will fire right up at the site of another cham even at the females at first untill he figures out that its a lady:rolleyes:

Its just like human personalities. Some are pissy some are calm. Each has its own benefits. In my babies I can tell which will be pissy and which will be calm at around 1 month.

I have 4 male panthers and 3 like to keep to themselves and like their privacy (though they are handled for cage cleaning and to go out on the patio for some sun and a change of scenery) where as the 4th loves to free range and hang out and is really happy to be around us. I have not treated any of them differently. I think each cham has their own character and personality and its the luck of the draw on what you get. I love them all equally :)

mine is a female veiled cham, tame as heck, i care for many skidish exotic animals, i find with all them "hand feeding and not forcing to much upon them always previels in time". if not then they are just super aggressive, which isnt a horrible thing i think.

If your looking for a calm guy/gal just ask the breeder before you buy and they will usually do there best to find one that fits your request...But remember, they aren't a "hands on" type animal to begin with so naturally they do not like to be handled often. However there are some exceptions..My male ambanja is super chill, and seems as if he doesn't mind being held at all.... My male ambilobe and nosy be will tolerate being held. there not aggressive, but they don't enjoy it... My male sambava...now hes pretty feisty...:) My females own there cages..:D
