Talking to you Cham

I talk to mine too! I even say goodnight to her when her lights go out! It's kind of sad that they can't hear though.

Haha that's funny you say that, everytime Leonard's lights click off I always say "Night lenny" if I'm in the room.

I have been known to talk to my chameleons. also to the frogs, the hermit crabs, the pet roaches, house plants ....this morning I was correcting the grammer of a person on the TV

I think they feel are vibrations in our speach

I sing a silly high and soft song when I spray our Chams. This is about 8 X daily.

Lyrics: Wadur, wadur-wa-dur, wadur, wadur-wa-dur...

(Come on, join in! Wadur, wadur-wa-dur, wadur-wadur-wa-dur...lol!)

They come to the screen and seem to know what's coming! They drink straight from their screen doors!

Talking to animals is crazy. Expecting them to talk back is even crazier. I think the third and final round of crazy is talking on their behalf. I'm guilty of all three, and should be locked up for it I'm sure.
However, I do save my more in depth conversations for my cats.

i was told they can hear through the vibrations. so...i'm guilty of talking to pokey. when he gets upset i talk to him in the slow soft voice like i'm disappointed in my child "ppoookey, what do you think your dooing" and he calms his ass down

but i've done that same voice and everything for 2 years so maybe its like the pavlovian thing


he also has songs, but i think i'll adopt that "wa-dur" one

Every time i get home i go greet my cham and ask her how her day was...
And if she enjoyed the meal i just gave her...

There is nothing wrong with talking to our pet as long as we maintain the healthy understanding that it is more for our sake than for them .
I talk to my chams as well.

I think mine know I'm going to give them a shower when I come near the cage. And I hate to admit that I doubt I amuse them with my "Wa-dur" song! They might actually be thinking how strange my mouth looks moving around when I'm singing.

Our cage guy says we shouldn't even look them in the eye because they could feel threatened. But I can't help but look mine in the eye...one at a time that is. lol.

lol mine look at me like I am nuts.....

this is prolly just nomral... but Henry will climb down his tree.... I don't notice till he is on the floor... and ill look at him... he'll stop... look at me like 'yeah, what?' and keep walking.... I say "HENRY, what are you doing!?!' and he stops, looks at me... pauses... I ask him again.... he'll sometimes sit a second and then turn around and go right back up his tree. I don't move or stand just talk.... does he realize he isn't being a good boy or does he just realize i'll end up putting him back in his range?
