Taking a day off feeding?

I have read that some people on here take days off feeding, like 8 days feeding one day off. Do a lot of people do this? Is there an advantage. I am sure the chameleon is hungry. Let me know your thoughts

I feed both mine every other day, more food at at time - just not daily.

When I was feeding them daily they'd be less interested in the food. They'd either ignore it, or pick off a cricket every once in a while. Now on feeding days they eat up all their food I give them quicker. Which means they are getting them when the feeders are nice and gut loaded, and dusted.

I will do that. I may feed 3-4 days in a row, then skip a day, then feed every other day for a little, and go back to feeding daily, then skip a day, feed daily again.....
Although baby or young chameleons eat every day, I won't skip with them until they are more grown up.

It keeps things interesting though. It's just another way of doing things.

I have a 8 month old female panther. Is she too young to take days off?

No, I don't think so. By now you may want to either feed less at each meal or start skipping a day between meals. Especially with a girlie, you want to lower her food intake a little so she doesn't lay 40 infertile eggs for you every time. This will bring the number down and make it an easier process for her.
