tail turning black & falling off????

about 3/4's of an in of my veiled's tail looked burned and fell off. Now another 3/4's of an inch is black and looks burned again? However, I don't think it's getting burned, I think it's a disease... Thoughts?

Is it possible sikn that has not shead off? When they grow if dry skin stays on it will cut of circulation and fall off.
