It is a bit hard to say from these picks, but it looks like a left over shed, that has constricted the area and cut-off blood supply, which led to tissue damage.

How long has it been like that?

I would strongly advise going to a vet. Depending on how bad the damage is the tip might have to be amputated.

Yeah first thing I was gonna say is just get her to a vet asap.

That tissue might start necrotizing and basically amputating.. itself, and may lead to infection ect.

It's been about two weeks we have been monitoring it and putting burn medication on it in case it was a burn. Hasn't really changed at all in two weeks

I really don't think it's a burn. As it was pointed out in the post above, it looks necrotic and might very well cause further infection, which might be internal, so you wouldn't be able to see it until it's too late.

Please, take your chameleon to the vet.

I would also advise to fill out the https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/ form. Left-over shed might mean that you have too low humidity or other issues in your husbandry, which, if corrected, will help you to avoid problems in future :)

it does look necrotic, like blood flow was cut off and the tissue died and she definitely needs to go to the vet to get it checked out!

check out this site, you can search for reptile vets by state on it! http://www.arav.org/find-a-vet/

please let us know how the vet visit goes :)

It looks very much like shed skin has caused blood flow to be cut off from the end of the tail and it has started to die. Definitely take her to a vet to see what they can do/if it will need to be amputated.

The panther in my avatar had something similar happen to him, he broke the end of his tail during a 3 hour car transport and at first it was just a kink in the tail, no discoloration. But about 2 weeks later it began to turn black at the break and it began to spread upwards very quickly, so Daedalus ended up loosing a good third of his tail to amputation.

He is doing great almost 2 years later, and could care less that the end of his tail is gone. He still uses what is left.

So please go to the vet and have it treated appropriately. She'll be just fine if some amount has to be removed.

looks like a constricted tail tip from old skin. sad to say it will probable drop off...to prevent any further fungus or rot I suggest a immune system boost . I like Rot Guard you can get it at any pet co or pet smart. works great
