Tail caught in enclosure door

when my partner got home from work he noticed that Rocky (the chameleon) tail got pinched in the door. it must have happened when I was feeding him before I had left, these are the photos my partner sent me. Wondering what next steps are and what to watch out for, any help/advice would be great. Rocky is about 4 months old.

Cham bruising can look dramatic. Can't tell from those photos, but check for breaks in the skin. If an actual wound exists, apply a triple antibiotic topical and keep an eye on it. If he can use his tail normally, the bruising is probably superficial and will resolve with time. If he can't use his tail, and/or the discoloration expands, time for a visit to an experienced chameleon vet. Chances are, unless the pinch occurred at the very tip of the tail where it might have cut off circulation too long, it will heal.
