One year is fine. That's what they're rated for—that's what they're warrantied for.

When these bulbs do go, it's not like flipping a switch (one day you're getting 3.0 UVI and the next day bupkis)—they deteriorate slowly over several months.

They are guaranteed a year. A meter will pay for itself if you have a few cages. I easily get between 2 and 3 years out of them before they go down to half power. Half power is the "change now" time.
+1. (y) I have a 10.0 over my beardie that's going on 2 years, and it's still at full strength (via Solarmeter).

You want to go ahead and change it now. Most people say 9 months for a reptisun bulb and 12 months for an arcadia bulb. If you buy a solarmeter 6.5 you know exact UVI output and can use it longer because you can test your levels. But are you only using a 12 inch fixture?

reptisun T8 (and most T8 other than arcadia) are 9 months for the low power, just to be safe. If you are aiming for only .5 or .25 UVI for your anoles, you dont want to be off too much in 9 months :p

Reptisun T5HO is rated the same as arcadia, one year.

Even the new nanos are rated for a year for your weee geckos:

Not even sure if you could call them CFLs if its just one swirl...

Yeah most of the people I have talked to say 9 months for the zoomed even though the company says they are rated for a year. I have used one before and by 6 months it dropped way more then any arcadia bulb I have used. So I stick with the 9 months that most are recommending. I have a solarmeter though so I was actually able to check levels while most that use them do not have one.
