t5 ho bulbs

can anyone reassure me that a 24" t5 ho bulb will produce a sufficient amount of uvb for a cham in a 2.5'L x 18"w x 4'T habitat??

If it's a UVB T5 bulb, like Reptisun or Arcadia, it will produce enough UVB. Some people use Reptisun 5.0 or Arcadia 6%, some use Reptisun 10.0 or Arcadia 12%. I guess it depends on how heavily planted and large your cage is. I use the Reptisun 10.0 T5 on my two cages, but my guys have plenty of places to escape the UVB if they chose to. If you have a screen top, it will cut down the UVB, that's one of the reasons I chose the 10.0 instead of the 5.0 .

Here is a very good thread on lighting:https://www.chameleonforums.com/definitive-lighting-thread-everything-you-really-need-know-80869/

A 24'' t5 5 or 6% UVB would be fine for that size cage providing that you have
your basking branches not more then about 8'' away from it.

Hi output bulbs are better, they penetrate through foliage better, and they are
brighter.

The % UVB drops sharply the farther away from it you get.
So if your cham is going to be 12'' away from the UVB, and in that size cage,
and lots of foliage, you may want to consider a 10%

I use 6% HO Arcadia with the basking branch about 7'' away.
This is were investing in a Solormeter really comes in handy, you can place
the branches at just the right distance.

The 10% bulbs can be too bright for their eyes unless they have plenty of
shady places to go.
