T5 grow lights

I've been using this as my plant light for a couple of years now with marginal success. Does anyone kow if they're good up until they burn out or should they be replaced before that like UVB bulbs?

I'm also wondering if this would be a little more effective on the plants but without harming my chameleon?

I use the ultra sun. I do not replace unless they burn out. They work well for my pothos and draceana.
