Hey all, noticed about a week or 2 ago that my cham has, what looks like to me, a swollen gum. I don't know if this is serious or not but it hasn't affected his eating or general behavior at all he is still the same old Huey. I'm thinking maybe a cricket or worm managed to get a bite in on the way down and it's just swollen and aggravated and will heal itself eventually, but as always I'd like to get other owners opinions before I rule out medical help. I've attached a couple pics

One of my chams had that and the vet told me what it was called but I can't remember. He had me put Silver Sulfadiazine Cream on it twice a day for two weeks and it went away.

It could heal by itself but as Jann said I would put some cream on it to speed it along. You don't want to end up with a mouth infection.

OK thanks for the input, where can I get some of that cream? Is it over the counter or do I need to go to the vet?

In Canada you can get flamazine but you need a prescription. Be careful with others....you need to be sure they can be used on the lips in case it gets ingested.
