Swelling still pretty bad, should I just leave it or contact her doctor again

So Nachito swelling still is pretty bad and I know we decided that she would be on hospice, but should I take her into the vet again to just get a health check and see if I can help her legs for the time being?
The grip on her right leg isn’t doing great and it seems she has a little trouble with holding things with it.

Also she now has 3 noticeable bumps on her back that are steadily getting larger

Others are more experienced, but if it were me, I would at least call the vet and see what they think. Maybe they can give her something to help and make her a bit more comfortable and take the swelling down. Maybe they can give you a prescription without bringing her in? Even though she is on hospice, part of hospice is making them comfortable. I’d imagine all that swelling is pretty uncomfortable.

I agree. I’m so sorry you and her are going through this.

I am sorry sweetheart. My concern with her leg at the joint being so swollen is she is showing classic signs of gout. This is separate from the edema that is going on. Gout is commonly seen when there is an issue of kidney function. So a build up of uric acid that they can not clear happens and you see gout like this. Honestly with the edema going on and the reproductive issues she has had it would not surprise me if she is having issues with her kidney function. So here is the thing. Gout like this can be very painful. This is where it comes down to is the treatment (pain meds) worth it. The worse it gets the less function of the foot she will have, she may also start dangling the foot. They would need to pull blood to see exactly what is going on with her uric acid levels/renal function.

So I do know when this started it wasn’t gout as we did bloodwork, and it was possibly some sort of infection, but maybe we will test it again.

It could be turning into an issue of gout and renal function now though. It has been some time now that she has been dealing with the edema. Edema in a chameleon is a direct sign that something is off in the body. Blood work would also show if she does have an infection going as well.

I am so glad we have a vet appointment tomorrow as Nachito gave me a huge scare this morning, her wrist had absolutely blown up this morning as her swelling has gotten horrible to the point my heart almost stopped when I saw it.
I tried to get photos but my phone has been having trouble focusing recently so these are the best I’ve gotten.
Honestly I’m so worried right now 😖
