sweet 7 new eggs?

so i ordered 2 more pygmies m-f and when they arrived there was an egg in the container--then i put her in my viv where she proceeded to lay another 6 eggs over the next few hours-so cool--2-3 months so i understand --any suggestions for a soon to be first time father

Pygmies do not usually lay 7 eggs-I am suspecting that one of your males may be a female???

What species of pygmy are you referring to? As Julie said, that is a lot for a single female R. brevicaudatus but certain other species are known to lay more eggs. Female Rh. nchisiensis can lay as many as 15 eggs in a clutch.

out of my last my last group of WC brev, one female laid 7, one laid 6, one laid 5, the rest were 4 and down

it happens, not often but its not necc a good thing, as it will put a considerable strain on the little one, esp since she was just shipped. take extra special care of her, maybe even provide her own temp enclosure for recouping so she doesnt have to stress over tank mates competing for food, and water.
