Suggestions for achieving night time temp requirements?

I’m hoping to get a veiled chameleon, but I’m trying to figure out how to achieve their necessary night-time temps. The AC in my house only gets to around 73 at night, and I know it is recommended for them to drop below 70 at night.

I’ve looked at some personal cooling fans, but those would all have to be refilled with ice water every night. I’d be worried about finding someone to do that every time I’m gone overnight.

Has anyone else had a similar issue and come up with a good solution?

I’m in Florida and can’t get my temps below around 74 unless I want to go bankrupt. My electric bill is insanely high enough. I had tried a room ac but it just wasn’t enough. My solution is not to boost humidity at night except for a very slight amount. I run the Mist King for 15 seconds, twice during the night. My chameleons (panthers and veileds) seem to do fine and every urate I see is white. I’d love to have a Jackson’s but don’t dare with such a warm night temp.

I guess there are some benefits for living in Alberta😂 I’m having no trouble keeping mine at 18 C at night. It does take till around 11 pm to get there though.

That’s good to know! I had heard something about changing the humidity depending on the temps, but didn’t know any details. What times of night do you run the mister? Also how often do you run it during the day?
