sudden tragedy

I posted a few days ago about a small spot on on Sarah's nose, a female jacksonii, that was pale pink in color. Yesterday when I came home I noticed that it had ruptured and was bleeding. I didn't take her to the vet as it had clotted and seemed to be healing quickly. After an hour of research I thought that it might just be an injury from scraping it on a branch or from falling. I cleaned the wound with saline and sterile gauze and she seemed very happy, moving about between the new mister and favorite basking branch in her new enclosure, eating and drinking like normal again... She was less than a year old.

This morning I found her at the bottom, having difficulty breathing and bleeding from her mouth. She died in my hand before I could get to the vet. Was it something that I did or didn't do?
anything helps
