Sudden Temperature Problem???

I have had the basking spot temperature dialed in at 83-84 degrees for a week, and then I wake up this morning and the temperature has jumped to 92. And I can't seem to get the temperature down. I've raised the light higher and still can't get the temps down... I have a 18x18x24 glass cage with a screen top and a vent on the sides.

Any Ideas?

I thought that, but Oscar had his mouth open which makes me think he's hot. The thermometer is barley a week old.

Use a lesser wattage bulb, unless you have tried that already.

I got the temperature under control by raising the light. I just wonder what caused the sudden increase.
