i have a small glass tank..and with no luck in have a small bark at the bottom getting damp and causeing my chameleion to get URI.. i have been trying out diffrent methods from newspaper..to kitchen roll...

which brings me to my next question...

can u just not have a substrate??? its a brown table underneath and i can see the droppings to take them out..and its just a easy wipe clean..and there will be nothing there to get moist and damp and attract pottential bacteria from growing

he never goes to the bottom anyway and its easiers for him to spot his prey.

are there reprecutions for not having a substrate???

thanks all

:D I know I will start sounding like an echo here..
But, I'll do it anyway :)

to the first Q: Absolutely yes!
to the 2nd one: Other than lessened humidity (which you can remedy by adding live plants), absolutely no negative repercussions.
I have stopped using any thing to cover the PVC bottom of my screen cage for 2 years (not even paper towel).
