Stupid general public and instagram!

Why is every stupid lizard called a chameleon by the general public? (Generalization) I see a lot of lizards labeled as chameleons on instagram. I was correcting people, but I'm done! Too many to handle! Uggghhhh... Just say'n!

My favorite (off topic nothing about instagram) is when I tell someone what reptiles I have and mention I have snakes people instantly yell EWWWWWW SNAKES! But can't say why.. there long lizards without legs... With out legs that's it! Drives me up a wall.

LOL I saw a iphone app the other day where if you tap on the chameleon in a picture it changes color... except it was a bearded dragon pic I wonder how many messages they get about that one

ya, somehow lizards are all lumped into "Iguana" or "Chameleon" or "Ew yuck gross"

Even before I found you guys and got my 1st cham I knew what a chameleon was. I may not have been able to identify it as veiled, panther, jacksons, melleri, parsonii, etc., but I knew a horned toad wasn't a chameleon!

Ha! I took mines to the vet yesterday and he said "oh it's a female jackson's yes?" NO! She's a vieled!

You should search 'chameleon jewellery' or something like that on google and see how many gecko shaped necklaces come up
