Hi everyone,I have an oustalets chameleon about 9 months old. He recently got this strange lump that doesn't really set of edema or anything to me but looks bizarre.
I dont know if it's painful for him or not. He has been less active moving around his cage bit still eating properly. His main diet is hornworms (very other day) and dubias (available in cage daily) with crickets about twice a month.
His eyes look fine and hydrated... I dust with calcium with d3 once a week and I semi regularly dust with calcium. Also in case of vitamin A deficiency I dust with spirulina twice a month.

I'll add an image of the lump.

Is it hard or soft? First thing to do is to feel the consistency, and determine if it is painful. A vet could get an aspirate and get an idea of what it may be. I think we'd be guessing otherwise.

I didn't try to touch it yet or was hoping for a similar experience. He is very anti social and was hoping to give it a couple days before a vet run since he hates being handles and is aggressive on occasion.

If it just appeared and then went away, gotta wonder if it was an air sac that inflated. Some chameleons have air sacs under their throats and around their casques and puff them up to look bigger during displays. Sometimes you will see them inflated under the front armpits. I would just monitor for now.
