strange digging????

Cami is now on day 27 and rather than digging tunnels she keeps digging out the entire corner of her laying chamber!! (making quite a mess of it)

Is this normal??

Should i leave it or check to see if she's layed??

Give her as much space as possible. What laying medium are you using? Perhaps she cant dig a tunnel cause the substrate cant hold and she is forced to just dig out a big crater in the corner of your bin.

Leave her alone! Mine did the same thing and is at this moment laying eggs. She dug out the corner then finally made a turn into the sand. Don't bother her, look in the cage or disturb her in any way unless she is up in the branches of her enclosure.

its a big rectangle one she's digging plenty but nothing that resembles a tunnel!! just the whole corner, and yes it is moist enough to hold a tunnel lol!

I would try a round (trash can) shaped bin.
I had the same problems with a square one and no trouble at all with the trash can (mine is about 2 gallons).

i took your advice and put a round shaped bin in for her instead, she's now on day 34 and has dug a huge tunnel in her sand (she's completely in it you cant even see her)!! No sign of anymore eggs (just the one she laid in the square tub at the start of the week) she looks like a huge bag of marbles! Will she be layin soon? When do i start to worry about her not laying??

If you can't see her then she is hell bent on laying those eggs - only she knows where she will want them to go.

Excellent!
Just leave her alone .... it won't be long now.
