strange acting veiled.. eating dirt from the ground?

since i have my veiled chameleon for 3 weeks now
all is good eats well is very tame tempratures are fine..
even drink allot some days more some days less
but since i was 2 days free today if could see his behavoire
more.. and well he kinda sitted under his basking spot..
and it was like he seen a cricket..
runned downstairs.. and when he was down he
just eat dirt... 2 times...
i even checked his mounth.. which he dindt liked.. started to gasp at me
for the first time.. and he did had dirt in his mouth..
can anyone tell me whats wrong?? or can it be that he has seen
some white rest like locust leggs that he can see as a worm??
yes i know repti bark is bad so i just had random realy fine dirt..
no big lumps or anything like that any suggestions??? thxx already

usually this is due to a lack of minerals and vitimins, what is your supplementation regement like. i have heard of this before have u tried searching forums for other topics pertaining to this subject?

every feed exo terra calcium without 3d.. twice a month with 3d..
1 time a week with vitemins from exo terra to...
so i guess that shouldnt be a prob further from that he eats
greenies to.. think the prob is he is kinda addicted to ..

Eating a little clean dirt isn't a big deal
Make sure it is clean and without any rocks or fertilizer/additives.
Mine all like a good chew and they get plenty of vit/minerals in their supps

ye got the finest dirt that is .. i kow lots of people dont use any substrate..
but i just wanna make a jungle enivorment .. and the eye like it to
instead of a paper or towl!
