Yes they're safe, I feed them all the time. My chameleon eats wild insects regularly during the summer as well.

They are red and black, just the brownish color type

LOL i just searched them up and THOSE are stink bugs? Ive rescued a few, i thought they were pretty beetles lol but next time, im feeding one to Stormy!
