Staying in sleeping spot

The label for my calcium definitely says without D3.

As for the LoD, that is the schedule that I have been using.

He has eaten a couple times since this began maybe a week ago. He moved a little bit out from that spot a few days ago, maybe 6" to a foot and I got him to eat some red runners (maybe 3).

Yesterday, I coerced him to go to his basking spot and fed him 4 red runners or so and 1 medium-large discoid

Well the good news is that he is still eating... And your sure he is not moving around during the day when your at work? Do you have plant lights on the cage to make it brighter during the day?

My fiance will check on him occasionally and hasn't seen him out and about and I had Friday, Saturday and Sunday off and didn't see him moving around

I have a 6500k fluorescent daylight bulb with my UVB to increase the lighting. The room he is in is relatively well lit from the windows during the day as well

If he were mine my next move would be a fecal and a good reptile vet. Might be a good idea to do a blood panel and make sure nothing is physically wrong with him.

Your husbandry is spot on so I am not seeing any reason for this. It would be different if you were getting extreme temp drops at night and he was in more of a brumation but your not so that does not fit the situation either.

Update: the exotic vet near me doesn't have an appointment available for another 1.5 weeks but they referred me to an emergency exotic vet nearby. The blood work would have been way too expensive at the emergency vet, but they did a physical exam and checked vitals. They said he looks great and he was super active when he was there. This continued when they brought him out and his gorgeous blues were showing again.

I got him back home and in his thoroughly misted enclosure, so hopefully he starts moving around again more in the morning. Although, it did seem like his colors started to go back to that yellow and gray pictured in my earlier post.

I'm starting to wonder if it is something in the room. The light fixture in the room is one of those dome lights - I've noticed him get afraid of it before and sometimes when his cage doors are open he will stare at it. Maybe it looks like a giant eye to him. But he's also been in this room for 5-6 months now and this behavior started probably a week or so ago. Not sure...

I've got an appointment for next Friday (1.5 weeks from now) at the exotic specialist for hopefully much cheaper blood work and might be able to squeeze in earlier if someone cancels

Ok do you want to go over the room and the cage? If so take pics of the entire cage so I can see everything including how many lights you have on top. I can see if anything jumps out at me with the enclosure. Per the room... Any mirrors or reflective surfaces? Any abstract bright paintings?

The room doesn't have any mirrors, there are several framed pictures that I suppose have a slight reflection from the plastic over the picture, but not a lot from what I see. The pictures aren't abstract. Mainly just star wars things and one of neil young's face

Ok give me specifics on your uvb fixture. 1 bulb? What strength? measured distance to basking branch below it. Also what is the type of screen material you used on the top of the cage?

The UVB is a 6% Arcadia T5HO dual fixture, single reflector with a 6500k daylight. His UVB basking branch (the highest one where I get the 2.9-3.0 UVI reading) is 6 inches below the titanium screen top

Edit: the branch is 6". Marty's height probably reaches 4-5" below the light/screen

I would consider a jungle dawn bar to add a bit more light to see if it makes him more active. Right now all the light is focused on the right side.

The 3UVI is measured an inch or so above the branch. At the branch is about 2.6-2.7 I believe.

He sleeps on the left towards the bottom.

Ok uvi is on point no worries there. I think one possibility is that left side is just staying darker so he is not wanting to get up and moving. With wider format cages it is important to have lighting one end to the other. With the jungle dawn bar you would also have the lighting to drop in plants in those mounted pots higher on the left and they will do great.

If he were mine I would start here and see if it improves. The reason why I’m suggesting the jungle dawn is the high quality of the lighting with lower heat output.

They are really amazing though for the plants... And the light output is wonderful.

The jungle dawn bar came in today, a lot quicker than I thought.

Definitely brighter, but Marty seemed to try to hide away from it pretty immediately. Hopefully he adjusts to it soon

Now drop plants into those two planters on the left.
