Staying at bottom of enclosure

My baby veiled chameleon went to the bottom of his enclose an hour ago and he has been there ever since he’s hanging in the bottom behind some leaves is this normal I’m about to shut the light off for bedtime is it ok for him to sleep down there? Might be a stupid question lol

Also I turned his lights off but he was still awake down there is that normal? Sorry first chameleon owner lol

As far as still being awake... Do you have other lights on in the room? Any lights on at all on the cage?

I did have my room light on I turned it off when I turned all of his lights off. And no I turn all his lights off when it’s bedtime
