wow! this thing has taken a week to work out the kinks- getting the lighting just so, the drippers to drip how I want them too - but I like to let them drink from the hose, or what drips onto the plants- and I just KNEW those girls would climb that drip line - soooooo HA ! I use something similar to what I saw on the lake freighters - when I was a child, my Dad used to fuel the huge lake freighters while they off loaded - I loved going with him , the ropes had these very big "pie plate" looking things on every tie rope - the were to keep RATS from being able to climb up the ropes and get on the ships - so I did kinda the same thing- I used deli cup lids to stop them from being able to get onto anything in the top- and today I busted this little one being foiled 
they can not go around these - so you can let the line hang as low as you want
