Starting to close eyes, born in june 14

I have kept a hatchling I had from an egg in a 10 gallon tank with a pathos plant in it since june 14. The plant sits up in the pot. I used a 40 watt bulb for a while now I've switched to 60w. Recently the baby has kept its eyes closed a good amount. I thought maybe because it had no uvb so I put uvb lighting on(the strip light) and it didn't seem to help. I took out the potted plant and have used branches from it and just went bare glass instead of paper towels on the bottom and have switched from fruit flies to crickets recently. I've just noticed the eyes being closed way too much now and I'm just getting worried. the tank stays right around 70 at all times with the basking around 83 i'd say. I'm regularly misting so I'm wondering what to do next at this point..it was good for months and now seems something is wrong all of sudden and its stumped me.
