starting my new journey

hi everyone

for the last 2 years i have been researching & researching and now i finally feel im ready to add a new member to my family.

a beautiful panther chameleon.

i have never kept a chameleon before but i guess we all have to start somewhere.
i do own a bearded dragon,so have a little reptile experience.also when i was growing up we had an iguana too.

i know this may have been done many,many times but i wanted to write down my to buy list and make sure i have everything correct.


i live in the uk so in reguards to a vivarium - vivexotic ax24 -61cm depth x 58.7cm wide x 121.6cm tall
(i will add more ventilation and remove the roof and mesh it)

arcadia canopy 24w with a t5 d3+ 12% uv light tube

light dome with 60watt or 40 watt spot bulb

microclimate dimming thermostat

double digital thermometer

2 live ficus plants

ive read alot of different reviews on hygrometers.some use them some dont.so not sure what to do
there?? whats your advise?

Welcome to the forums and kudos to you for doing your research BEFORE buying a chameleon. I'd suggest a screen cove for the water collecting bowl. For even mor research my blog for new keepers.
