Okay. I bought a culture from a member on here. I have pmd that person asking for some guidance as to what exactly I am doing or should be seeing, but havent heard anything. I bought supposedly 16 oz of Springtails. What I got is a cup of carbon. I see maybe 5 itty bitty white specs, and a few FF shells (nothing inside) it looks like, but they nothing is moving. I followed the instructions and threw in some veggies and fish food to mold. Its been 2 days and still havent seen anything.. My q is: How the heck can my frogs see them to eat them if I cannot? Are they microscopic? I just assumed 16 oz meant that I would get a big container of bugs i could dump in the tanks, not invisible ones I cant even see.. Does it take a while to grow or something? Im pretty patient, but I dont like wasting $$ either...

That is a springtail culture which is food for small frogs like darts and thumbnails. Being a culture it will take up to a month before you start seeing thousands running around in there. It is important to let them breed before you start feeding them out and they do get a little bigger as they get older. Go here to ask questions on what to feed them. www.Dendroboard.com

Yea Sage, I have Red Eye Tree Frogs so that helps.. Like I said, when I go to petsmart or order online, I get a container of bugs.. I dont get air. LOL. I know, well I think, there is something in there.. Im just curious how it accounts for being 16oz.. guess the carbon filling the space? Oh well. Lesson learned to ask first I suppose.

Thanks Guys.
