Spoiled? or Lazy?

As I have stated in other posts. I hand feed my boy Clarence his super/horn/silk. He gets 1 or 2 every other day. Usually they are supers as the others are hard to get. Ive noticed that every time I go near his cage now he is always locked on my hands thinking I have a treat for him. Even most of the time I dont.

Now I have noticed he will be chillin on his top vine, there could be 3 or so dusted crickets sitting around 8 inches infront of him on the screen.. he doesnt really pay them any attention. But the second I grab one in my hand, he will instantly eat it...

He still eats just fine when I am not around, but I was wondering does anyone else's do that? Or is he just just being lazy/spoiled.

He's spoiled... 2-3 worms every other day seems really low. I take it you give home crickets too? You can stop the strike if you offer nothing but crickets for 4-6 days. He'll get hungry and continue eating like normal.ive got 2 picky eaters... Oy vey I know your pain

Yes he still gets his daily crickets. He just turned a year, so now its down to crickets every other day..

I just offer the worms as treats.. He loves those supers like twinkies for some odd reason!

But yes, looks to me like he is getting spoiled.

probably because of the fat content.

he may be hoping that when you hand feed its going to be a fatty worm instead of a boring cricket :)
or maybe he is more attentive to your big movements and the crickets arent moving enough in the enclosure to grab his notice.

I think you could be on to something there!!!!! because just when he sees my hands he opens his mouth a little bit and starts to stick his tounge out just a little bit...

haha, sometimes I give it a little bop and say Not today buddy!!

Spoiled Cham... Never thought I'd be saying that...

Now if my female could just act right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you mean a tap to his tongue, I suggest you not do that anymore

be careful of rings on your fingers, painted fingernails, etc. I have a panther (not the first one to be like this) that associates my hands with food, and even my eyeballs. I have to be careful! :)

Lol, what did you think, I give it a wack?!? haha. And I am not talking about his tongue at all as its extended. I am talking about when he cracks his mouth, oh id say 2mm, and has the little tip of his tongue out like he is getting ready to taste a branch.. and its not like he jumps or flinches or anyhting like that... He is really a calm Cham.

anyway, I am a male, so no fingernail paint, and I dont wear rings, so thats not an issue. I just think its funny the second I go to his cage he instantly starts looking in my hands..
