Splat having some fun...

Hi everyone,

well, crazy thing happened last week.
I found out that Splat is not 75% ambilobi/25% nosy be like I ordered.
turns out he's 50% sambava/25% ambilobi/25% nosy be.
that explains all the reds he is showing in alot of my pics.

on top of that, he was sent to me at only 7 weeks old.
that makes him now 9 weeks old.
to me, that is a little young to be shipped.
but he has been an easy first chameleon to deal with.
eats well, drinks well, all in front of me...
eats about 2 or 3 crickets from my fingers each morning, before I add the rest to his feeding cup.

took him out of the cage today to deep clean it.
he grew from 2" to 2.5" STV in just 2 weeks.

anyway, here are some more pics of the little fellow...

For me he was shipped way young, but we are all different. It looks like you are up to the challenge. Splat looks good and I love him eating. Nothing like a cham that eats, drinks and poops.:)

How did that mixup occur? That's pretty crazy to me. Glad you enjoy him!

Odo had two batches of babys ready.
one from a full ambilobi female, one from a full sambava female.
Odo is a 50% ambilobi/50% nosy be.

Splat was the most colorfull male of the two clutches, and Liddy picked him out for me for that reason.
it was a simple mistake that I wound up getting him.
to be honest, I'm quite happy with such a wonderfull baby that could turn out some spectacular colors.

once the mix up was found out, Liddy provided me with the dams name and age (as well as the age of Odo), and the hatch dates for my baby (Feb 2-10).

yeah, it sounds way too young to ship IMHO.
10 to 12 weeks should be better I guess...as they would be far stronger.

as for poopies, I found a double poop and a huge urate conected together today.
so yeah, he's doing well.:D
