What are spikes maggots and are they used for feeders? Haven't heard that term before.

I think they’re just maggots. Usually bluebottle fly maggots. I don’t think people typically feed the spikes, they just let them pupate, and feed off the flies. For mental stimulation and hunting response, flies are good; however, I don’t know whether they can be well but loaded, so they might be just a treat.

I set them up to pupate and feed off as flies over weeks at a time. It's like an auto feeder.
Are they not healthy for the cham as part of a mixed insect diet ?
He seems to love them. I have the blue bottle flys.

The flies are fine and can be gutloaded on a liquid mix of honey, pollen, and other powders that you can make into a liquid/paste. I used to mix it all up and put on a cotton ball for the flies to feed on.

It's the spikes that are not great to be feeding off.
