My lil' guy was just walking on my bed, when I looked at him from above and noticed he was two different morphs!! It was absolutely amazing!! Does anyone know the scientific reason behind this?!?!! That's just another thing that makes these creatures so bloody fascinating!! I mean really?!?! Can your cat do that!?? Mine can't...

I've seen that chams can adjust the coloring on one side of their body individually. Does each side look different all the time?

Not at all! This is the first time I've ever seen him do this.... He's been one morph always. He instantaneously went back to normal when I pick him up.

Apollo, my male veiled, who is still 4-5 months old usually is darker on the side that is catching all the light from the basking bulb. So one side is dark green/brown while the other is almost lime green :)

Chameleons really are wonderful little creatures!

Love his colors!! Ive seen our female do this once and i was able to get some video and pics of it.

WOW, Metal725!! That's incredible!! It's just insane how they can manipulate their chromatophores completely independently from each side!! I'm sure I could google how and why, but I think forums are way more fun :)

Yeah my female Jackson's does this all the time, she darkens only one side in the shapes of clubs, and diamonds, and spades
