I just got my new blue bar ambilobe panther chameleon today, named Spectrum. He is 15 weeks old. My brother noticed something weird though. He has a lil bump under his one arm, but not the other. Can someone tell me what this might be?

Can you see it in this? Left side (since the pic is turned, bottom). It's very hard to get a pic where you can see it, he's very little.

Seeing that it has grown, that is not a good sign. I would get him to a vet right away. There is another thread going on here where a member had a chameleon with a growth and it ended up spreading and he passed away. Early treatment is key as always.

Thank you for the info Carol5208. I'm sorry to hear about the other cham, I can't imagine losing my lil guy like that, and so, I really hope it isn't anything too serious. Do you know what it was that caused it?
I'm waiting to hear from the vet about appointment availability.

What does the seller have to say about this? An obvious health issue (undiagnosed abnormal lump that is getting larger?) and they still sold him to you? Not that I expect them to do much but this isn't great even if it does turn out to be a simple fix!

Spectrum saw the vet today. They drained the lump and it was just fluid inside. They're unsure of exactly what it was but believe it was a forming abscess or cyst. He's on antibiotics for the next ten days. Thankfully he is ok right now. :) He loved the vet too, I was surprised, he seemed upset when we were leaving. He was climbing all over the vet, even hung by his ear. LOL!

Great news!!

Yeah, I'm very relieved and happy about how good he was there. My lil guy doesn't even try to bite anyone, he's pretty friendly.

Now the next issue is how do I get the meds in his mouth? LOL. he's so lil and very skittish, but still very friendly so, he runs from things, but doesn't open his mouth, rarely even puffs up his body. It's hard to even tap the side of his mouth and get him to open up.

At this point I have tried gently touching the sides of his jaws, covering his eyes, tapping his nose gently, and even placing him in front of a mirror and he just refuses to open his mouth. He's so sweet I can't get him to open his mouth at all. What to I do now? Are there any other techniques to get him to open up?

Get a credit card.

USe the corner to go between his lips and twist a bit this should make him open his mouth.
