Tilly has been at the vets all day today for scans and xrays etc. Its not the best news 
It appears that folicles must have been left behind and she has 4 deformed looking eggs inside her. Because her womb has been removed this is basically an ectopic pregnancy! She will not be able to lay them on her own and it is planned to open her up on Thursday to remove eggs and other stuff. If the eggs have adhered themselves to any organs however this may not be possible without doing further damage to the girl...if this is the case she will be staying asleep. Soooo I need to feed her up and keep her well hydrated in prep for Thursday...obviously Tilly still thinks she needs to dig, tire herself out and not eat

That is terrible but I hope everything goes ok! Poor little girl!

You have her at the same vet the left stuff in her when they spade her right? If so I would tell them they have to flip the bill! If you brought her to a different vet I would bring the bill to the old vet! Keep us updated on her progress

this sounds exactly like what happened with my friends chameleon (i told you about this before) except you caught these internal eggs in time before they began to rot......consider this a good thing because something may be done this time; but remember its an extremely difficult process spaying a chameleon and it seems like most of the time it's not done right (or at least in my experience) so be prepared if something like this should ever happen again. at least then you will know exactly what the problem is and can take her to the vet knowing what the problem is already, and remember that even the best vets have difficulty with extreme procedures like this one, but ill be keeping my fingers crossed for the both of you and good job; you did the right thing taking her to the vet and catching this before any untreatable problems came about.

Just to clarify, Tilly is at the new vets (both new and old vet have disscussed Tillys case). I am very happy with the new vet who is much more friendly and willing to discuss and explain things. He has really gone out of his way for us on this one. In Tillys favour the vet says Tilly is in very good health apart from the egg thing but he has said that if the eggs have adhered to anything inside of her this will be a major problem!!! and one which may not be worth risking further suffering and complications for Tilly. I trust him to make the best decision on this. Nobody wants Tilly to suffer! she has gone through so much already.
I shall be writting to the first vet to express how dissatisfied and upset I have been with their service. I doubt that they will foot the bill but it is the general consensus that they should do if they have any ethics at all.

OK I have just told the vet to leave my poor dear little lady cham asleep. I thought i was ready for what ever the news was but now i am finding it hard to see through the tears to post this. The vet says her innards are a bit of a mess. Looks like there is some egg left in there that may have been there since last time!!! I have told him I am happy for him to continue looking around to see exactly what had happened but not to let her wake up and suffer. I miss Tilly really badly already. She was a beautiful cham with a lovely character for a yemen. she actually seemed quite well considering what was going on inside her! and was eating well yesterday aswell for me. She had a fantastic vice like grip LOL. When the vet examined her earlier he thought she seemed quite well. love you Tilly!

I am so sorry you had to make that very tough decision. It's awful to lose a chameleon. They are all so special. Don't know what else to say really, just to offer my condolences. I know how sad and hopeless you are feeling right now - the girly chams are extra special. Thinking of you. Tiff x

I'm so sorry to hear this! You really went all out for Tilly and I commend you! Many owners wouldn't have known there was a problem or would have put her down rather than pay a vet at all. Adhered follicles do happen. Follicles can be missed, but a proper spay should have gotten them all the first time.
I know you are hurting, but don't blame yourself...you did all you could to help her. Remember karma. You are on the Good Cham Mom list!

Final results have come back on Tilly...it would seem that folicles were not left behind but she had particles from her wome that had rehomed themselves on her other organs and these were growing folicles!!!! the folicles were inturn producing eggs!!!! how bizarre is that? The little deformed eggs were also causing peritinitus so it would seem that we made the best choice for her. Sorry I have not used any of the proper scientific names for everything here (I cant remember them). I just thought you may all like to know the results. The vet will be giving us a copy of the report when we visit next.

I am glad you found out what went wrong for her. I was glad that I had a PM done on Lily - if anything to put my mind at rest that it wasn't anything that I did or didn't do. Thank you for sharing this info. You would think that once they are spayed that would be it. Sounds like she had the chameleon form of endometriosis, poor girl.

Sorry to hear about all the stress you have had to go through. Sometimes females can cause major worries. Also, it is sad you had to deal with a bad experience at the first vet. I hope everything is okay at this point. Just fyi but I had to use oxytocin 1 time and it worked, I was so happy!!! Good luck.

i was very sad to let poor Tilly go. It was strange to see her lay there all lifeless! As with all chams it has been wonderful being a part in her amazing life. I learnt a lot too. I had no idea of the complexity (science) of female cham problems despite lots of research it seems the more you know the more there is to know. I really miss her but I think she had a good life despite the recent problems. Chams are soo unlike any other creature!
