Someone please tell me what I did wrong

I had a male werners in an exo terra as I have read is ok because it keeps in the humidity, I also have a female in one. The male died. He was eating but then just stopped. I didn't know how they were so I figure that could be the issue or something. They both have the same plants in their tanks and on a misting system misted several times a day. Ambient temp in the tanks did now go above 80. The female I got looks gravid and she is doing great, I've had them since February. I bought a replacement male as my female is doing great and I wanted one to breed. And he just died as well but the female is fine. I keep panthers, day geckos, arboreal alligator lizards (that just mated last night) and a mellers. All with no issues. All I can think is the males cage stayed a bit more saturated than the females and that had something to do with it? Everything else is the same.

I will not be getting a new male werners for awhile as not only is my wallet hit a bit but my confidence is very low.

Anyone have any ideas? Anything would be helpful

Thanks

Well that's sad you lost two males! I assume you stripped down the first male's cage before using it for the second, right? I assume all your werners were imports? Without a necropsy on either one it may be difficult to pin down a cause. They both could have hidden illnesses, parasite blooms, stress from their travels until they couldn't. Maybe they were older animals. I don't know how long this species lives. Collectors may target larger males with well developed horns that may attract buyers, but it can also mean they were older and probably had more advanced parasite loads. That's all I can think of as your setups don't sound that different.

Yes I tore it down and hand washed the plants, they are live plants. I did reuse the plants after. Should I just have scrapped the plants?
