I have always heard, and been told that i should use fertilizer and pesticid free soil, i found some at homedepot, its all natural chicken manuer. I was told recently that chicken manuer is really strong, which soil should i use?

Go with an organic compost/soil. I mixed some play sand in with mine, not quite 50/50 ratio though. A lot of people use just play sand, but Lily prefered the 'dirt' box to the sand box.

I use plain old top soil:) Its like 1.50$ a bag at lowes. It is in a white bag with red lettering. 2/3 topsoil 1/3 playsand is what I have used for panthers and tavetana.

Whatever medium you choose, make sure that it is damp enough to hold a tunnel. Also bear in mind that it can dry out when under the heat and lights in the cage, so will need checking and misting as necessary.
